Surreal Photo Montage

When we first started to discuss this project, I immediately got this idea in my head that I wanted this to relate to my life. I had this image in my head that I wanted to show that my life was a struggle, but if I really try, I could get to the top. In this piece though, the main focus, or the biggest image of myself  is "sinking" in the sand to show that I'm struggling. Then, as you can see at the bottom, I am looking up at the sand castle planning how I can get up there, and then the images of myself climbing up represents me conquering my struggles and at the top, that's when the struggle is conquered. Honestly, I am really satisfied with how this piece came out. It came out almost exactly like the image I had in my head. The only thing I have to complain about is the fact that MS.FRIEDMAN made fun of my banner in the sky. Also, my original idea was to have hour glasses breaking open in the sky, and have them pouring out the sand rather than it looking like it's just on a beach. But then I decided to use one of my photos from the 30 day challenge of my dad holding a pocket watch to represent time. Even though it may not be the exact image that was in my head, I'm happy with this piece, and I think it came out successful.

  1. The photo of you stuck in the sand is cracking me up. However I do like the inspiration for your photo. But I do think that the banner is hard to read. If you wanted a quote, maybe you should have made a caption underneath the photo?

  2. The banner was scanned into the picture because we needed to scan something into the picture. And I also have to change the size of the picture because it's hard to see, period.
